5 Off-Season Destinations for the Fall

Well the long days of summer travel are over, but fall is a wonderful time to explore a new destination - especially if you’re headed there in the off-season. Off-season travel gives you fewer crowds, decent temperatures, and great deals on flights, hotels, and rental cars. Here are a few off-season suggestions from our PHL Airport parking company:

Hawaii

Most people travel to Hawaii during the winter to escape the cold weather, but if you head to the islands in the fall, you’ll enjoy consistent temperatures around 90 degrees as well as fewer crowds. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to take advantage of things like windsurfing, paddle boarding, scenic hikes, snorkeling, and other great outdoor adventures.

Montreal

Montreal attracts most of its visitors in the summer months, which means fall is the perfect time to plan a getaway. With the city’s average temperature in the mid-60s, you’ll be cool and comfortable strolling through the cobblestone streets, visiting a museum, shopping for something special, or relaxing in one of many beautiful parks.

The Bahamas

Just like Hawaii, the Bahamas are a great place to go when temperatures drop in the states, which means the islands will be pretty crowded during the winter. Head there during the fall, however, and you’ll find great deals on hotels, resorts, cruises, and more. The main reason for the low prices is because fall is hurricane season in the Bahamas, but there are plenty of areas that stay dry. Look into your options before you book.

Iceland

Come September and October, temperatures in Iceland drop and many visitors head back to the U.S. for milder weather. However, if you’re willing to layer up a little and don’t mind shorter days, you’ll find great prices on hotels, activities, car rentals, and more. You may also get the chance to enjoy a beautiful Northern Lights show, which is brightest September through mid-April.

Argentina

The good news is when it’s fall in the Northern Hemisphere, it’s spring in the Southern Hemisphere, and Argentina offers temperatures in the mid-70s throughout September, October, and November. In addition, you’ll find plenty of trees in bloom that make for a beautiful backdrop as well as great hotel rates through December.
