The Most Popular Destinations for Summer 2018

According to Google, most travelers start planning their summer vacations in May. This means in about a week, you’ll be competing with thousands of others to score the best deals to the best destinations. At our Philly Airport parking company, we suggest planning your trip a little early. Here are some of the hottest destinations for this summer:

Santa Fe, New Mexico

For a great combination of affordable and scenic, head down to Santa Fe. With dry weather during most of the summer, you can spend your days hiking through the unique landscape, discovering local art, and enjoying authentic New Mexican cuisine. And if you’re looking for even more areas to explore, Albuquerque is only an hour away.

Maui, Hawaii

Maui is quickly becoming one of the best places to visit in Hawaii. It’s a wonderful place for outdoor lovers - from water sports like surfing and kayaking to the dozens of unique hiking trails, it’s easy to keep busy outdoors. And if relaxation is more your style, Maui has more beaches than any other island in Hawaii, featuring beautiful waters lined with white, black, or even red sand.

Tokyo, Japan

Over the past few years, both airfare and hotel prices have dropped in Tokyo, making it a great place to go this summer. Take a stroll through the city and you’ll find yourself amongst neon-lit buildings, playful fashion, historic temples and shrines, and beautiful gardens. And if quality cuisine is one of your passions, the city has more Michelin star restaurants than anywhere else.

Pompano Beach, Florida

Known as the “Heart of the Gold Coast,” Pompano Beach (just north of Ft. Lauderdale) skips the young hustle and bustle of places like Miami and Daytona and offers a more family-friendly vacation. In addition to the classic golden-sand beaches, you’ll find excellent boating and fishing opportunities, a 1,000-foot-long pier, an offshore coral reef, and more than 50 local parks.

Xi’an, China

Once the capital of China, Xi’an is the country’s oldest city with a rich culture to offer its visitors. From the famous Terra-Cotta Warriors to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda to city’s 14th-century wall (the most complete city wall that has survived in China), there’s plenty of history to see. You’ll also find a world of delicious cuisine, friendly locals, and beautiful mountain scenery.

Singapore

Getting to Singapore costs less than it once did, which is good news for those who’ve never been. The city is one of the cleanest in the world and boasts unique “food courts” with delicious grub as well as a variety of bars for those who love the nightlife. While you’re there, don’t forget to check out the Singapore Botanic Gardens, which is home to 1,000 different species of orchid.

Mykonos, Greece

Largely known for its “party” atmosphere, the beaches of Mykonos are not only stunningly beautiful, but frequented by those who love dance music and a good time. The island is also home to clubs that attract world-renowned DJs and stay busy until morning. Elsewhere on the island, you can find 16th-century windmills, a bustling neighborhood called Little Venice, and a variety of museums.

Savannah, Georgia

If you love cobblestone streets, historical homes, mossy oak trees, and classic Southern charm, book a trip to Savannah this summer. You can learn all about the history of the city while taking in the beautiful parks, gardens, and architecture - just don’t forget to hit the shops and restaurants along River Street. And if the beach is calling, Tybee Island is just 18 miles away.

No matter where you decide to go, we’ll have a Philly Airport parking spot ready for you! Just make a reservation and we’ll take care of your car while you’re gone.
