Daytona Beach

If you get past the idea that Daytona Beach, Florida is all about spring breakers, you’ll find out that it’s actually a very family-oriented place for a Labor Day vacation. The Daytona Beach Bandshell hosts free concerts during the weekend and wraps them up with a fireworks show. You could also visit the Daytona International Speedway for the inside scoop on NASCAR.

Washington D.C.

Head to the country’s capital for the annual free concert by the National Symphony Orchestra or the D.C. Blues Festival going on this weekend. You can also check out Arlington National Cemetery or head to a Washington Nationals baseball game. Don’t forget to check out the many restaurants offering a Labor Day brunch to celebrate the end of summer.

Chicago

Chicago has plenty of things to do and see this Labor Day weekend. Check out some new music at the North Coast Music Festival (and its many after-parties) or the Chicago Jazz Festival. You can also catch a baseball game at the iconic Wrigley Field, head to an all-you-can-eat pig roast at Lottie’s Pub, or be part of the annual Pullman Labor Day Bike Ride.

Vancouver

If you haven’t been to Canada, Vancouver is a great place to go. The city is full of unique architecture and beautiful sights.
